An iconic rock star from the 1980s recently announced the birth of his first child with his wife. Roland Orzabal, aged 64, and his spouse Emily, aged 38, welcomed their newborn earlier this summer.
The revelation came from Curt Smith, Roland’s bandmate in Tears for Fears, who mentioned that the band had to forgo summer touring plans due to the expanding family. Emily Rath Orzabal gave birth in June, with the baby’s name, Eula, being disclosed by her Instagram followers in the comments section of one of her posts.
A user on Instagram congratulated the couple on the birth of Eula, mentioning that Roland’s brother had announced the name on one of the band’s online forums. Curt elaborated on the new addition to the family during an interview with Vulture, explaining that the summer tour was canceled because Roland and his wife were expecting a baby.
The newborn is the first child for the musician and photographer duo. Roland also has two children, Pascal and Raoul, from his previous marriage to Caroline, who passed away in 2017 at the age of 54.
In 2020, Roland and Emily quietly tied the knot on top of Aspen Mountain in Colorado after their original wedding plans were disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic. Emily expressed her feelings about adapting to the situation, sharing that they eloped atop a mountain in Aspen to honor their original date.
The following year, the couple celebrated with a more elaborate ceremony at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire. If you enjoy celebrity news, follow Mirror Celebs on platforms like TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and Threads for more updates.
