“Vodafone Debuts AI-Powered Scam Call Protection”

Vodafone Introduces Scam Call Protection Service with AI Technology

The rise of unwanted phone calls has become a common annoyance for smartphone users. Recent data shows that on average, consumers in the UK are bombarded with eight such calls every month. These calls often aim to extract personal information and credit card details for fraudulent purposes.

To tackle this issue and enhance customer safety, Vodafone has unveiled a new service called Scam Call Protection. This innovative feature utilizes AI technology to detect and flag suspicious calls, including potential scams, spam, and nuisance calls.

Operating discreetly in the background, the system analyzes incoming calls and alerts customers with a simple on-screen notification if any call is deemed suspicious.

Rob Winterschladen, the Consumer Director at VodafoneThree, emphasized the importance of staying vigilant against evolving scam techniques. He highlighted that Scam Call Protection on Vodafone Secure Net Mobile offers an additional layer of security by actively monitoring and identifying known and suspected scam calls. This initiative underscores Vodafone’s commitment to providing comprehensive digital security to empower customers with a safer and more informed online experience.

The Scam Call Protection feature is integrated into Vodafone’s Secure Net Mobile platform, which also includes advanced parental controls, round-the-clock ID monitoring to prevent identity theft, and real-time virus and malware protection.

Customers can experience the service free of charge for three months before opting for a subscription at £2 per month.
