“Tiger Woods Takes Golf Break After Back Surgery”

Tiger Woods recently shared that he will be taking a break from golf following a recent back surgery he underwent in October. This surgery marked the seventh procedure Woods has had on his back and the third significant operation he has undergone in the past two years, with previous surgeries conducted on his Achilles and ankle.

Despite winning the Masters in 2019, ending an 11-year drought for a Major title, Woods has struggled to maintain a competitive edge in the sport due to ongoing injuries. He was able to make an appearance at his annual Hero World Challenge golf tournament in the Bahamas but acknowledged that a return to the fairways is still a distant prospect.

While joking about playing numerous events across tours, Woods emphasized the need to focus on his recovery before finalizing any tournament schedules. He recently received clearance to resume chipping and putting after a six-week period following the disc replacement surgery. Now, he plans to intensify his gym workouts to strengthen his body gradually.

Woods, currently tied with Sam Snead for the all-time PGA tournament wins record at 82, may find motivation in breaking this milestone with a future victory. His friend Notah Begay III highlighted that Woods’ main challenge post-surgery is regaining mobility on the golf course, indicating a potential obstacle to his comeback.
