A male suspect in his thirties has been taken into custody on suspicion of a rape incident following a Sikh woman’s report of a racially motivated assault while she was on her way to work.
The victim, a British-born Sikh woman in her twenties, informed authorities that a derogatory comment was directed at her during the sexual attack that occurred in the Tame Road vicinity of Oldbury, West Midlands, on Tuesday.
Reportedly, the assailants verbally abused the woman, telling her to leave the country while carrying out the assault between 8 am and 8:30 am, according to the Sikh Federation (UK).

The victim, in a statement issued through the Sikh Federation (UK), expressed gratitude for the overwhelming love and backing received from her local community as she copes with the aftermath of the incident.
She conveyed her appreciation, stating, “I am deeply touched by the outpouring of support from everyone during this challenging period for me and my family. The solidarity and compassion exhibited by the community have been remarkable, and I am immensely thankful for their advocacy.”
Reflecting on the distressing event, she added, “No one should endure what I experienced. I was simply going about my day, heading to work, and the repercussions have deeply impacted us. Throughout this ordeal, my family has been my pillar of strength, and my community has stood by me resolutely. I hope that the perpetrators are swiftly brought to justice to prevent such incidents from befalling others.”
