An attendee of an Oasis concert at Wembley ended up requiring surgery after slipping on stairs, following a tragic incident where another concert-goer passed away at the same venue. Michael Hargreaves, a 53-year-old self-employed plumber and gas engineer, slipped while carrying drinks back to his seat for himself and his wife during the concert on August 3.
Michael, a dedicated Manchester City fan and a seasoned concert attendee, described the floor at Wembley as unusually slippery that evening. Despite only having consumed a couple of glasses of wine, he slipped and fell, sustaining a severe arm injury that required emergency surgery the next day at Queen Mary Hospital in London. His road to recovery remains uncertain, with potential long-term consequences on his dominant arm.
After receiving initial first aid at Wembley and attempting to stay for the concert, Michael and his wife had to leave early to seek further medical attention. He expressed concerns about his ability to work, as his injury may impact his livelihood. Seeking support and answers, Michael reached out to legal specialists at Slater and Gordon to navigate his situation.
In a separate incident at the same concert, an inquest was opened for the death of Lee Claydon, a landscape gardener who suffered fatal injuries. Oasis expressed condolences for the tragedy, while Wembley Stadium assured thorough investigation of all incidents on its premises.
