“Starmer Slams Farage’s Plan, Warns of UK Division”

Keir Starmer has criticized Nigel Farage’s proposal to end indefinite leave to remain, stating that it would cause significant division in the UK.

During a conversation with students at the Liverpool Echo office before the Labour Party Conference, the Prime Minister strongly condemned Reform UK’s contentious initiative, labeling it as one of Nigel Farage’s most alarming ideas.

Responding to questions about the potential impact on hundreds of thousands of long-standing residents who contribute to society in various ways like working in hospitals, schools, businesses, and as neighbors, he expressed deep concerns. He emphasized the importance of unity, tolerance, and respect for diverse perspectives in British society, warning that divisive policies like these could harm the nation.

Addressing the young audience, he lamented the prevalence of such divisive politics in their upbringing and urged for a more inclusive and compassionate approach to governance.

The Prime Minister interacted with Year 10 and 11 students from several schools, initially discussing the recently introduced Hillsborough Law, which mandates public servants and authorities to uphold honesty and transparency or face legal consequences.
