During a meeting with Donald Trump, Morgan was surprised to learn that the US president had a dossier detailing all the critical comments Morgan had made about him. Trump confronted Morgan about his remarks, questioning him on calling him a “mob boss” and suggesting he should not run for office again.
Morgan suspected that Nigel Farage, who had recently launched a competing show on GB News, had provided Trump with the dossier to disrupt the interview. To salvage the situation, Morgan quickly shifted gears and decided to praise Trump, realizing it was the best course of action.
By a stroke of luck, Morgan had recently read an interview where golfing legend Ernie Els mentioned playing golf with Trump and witnessing him score a hole in one. Morgan focused on this positive aspect rather than criticizing Trump’s political history during the interview.
Trump’s demeanor changed after the discussion about the hole in one, and the interview proceeded smoothly. Despite being saved by Ernie’s positive comments about Trump’s golfing skills, Morgan did not forget Farage’s actions, labeling him as a “treacherous weasel.”
Morgan expressed disappointment in Farage’s betrayal, citing an incident where he congratulated Farage on his interview with Trump but received no similar courtesy in return. He criticized Farage for sabotaging his interview with Trump after returning to London.
