“Man Convicted of Murdering Pregnant Girlfriend Over Abortion Refusal”

A man was convicted of first-degree murder for killing his pregnant girlfriend who refused to have an abortion. Donovan Faison, known as a monster, was found guilty of the 2022 killing of 18-year-old Kaylin Fiengo. The jury quickly reached a verdict after two hours of deliberation. Kaylin, who was about three months pregnant, was discovered dead in a parked car with a gunshot wound on November 11. She had engaged in multiple disagreements with Faison regarding her choice to proceed with the pregnancy.

Prosecutors in Seminole County, Florida, are pushing for the death penalty for Faison, with the sentencing scheduled for Wednesday. An investigation revealed that Kaylin had gone to Coastline Park to meet someone she knew. She was also a mother to a one-year-old boy at the time of her tragic death.

Tatiana Fiengo, Kaylin’s aunt, expressed relief at the conviction, stating that while it couldn’t bring Kaylin back, at least Faison would not pose a threat to others. Statistics from US crime reports indicate that one in five homicide victims is killed by an intimate partner, with over half of female victims being slain by a current or former male partner.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported 1,361 homicides in Florida in 2023, resulting in a death rate of 6.5 per 100,000 individuals. In contrast, there were 590 homicide victims in England and Wales in the year ending March 2023, despite the population being nearly three times that of Florida.
