“Labour Cabinet Members Wow Crowd with Karaoke Hits”

Cabinet members Wes Streeting and Lisa Nandy delivered a spirited performance of Oasis’ “Don’t Look Back in Anger” at the renowned Mirror party during the Labour Party Conference. Health Secretary Mr. Streeting and Culture Secretary Ms. Nandy, along with former shadow minister Jonathan Ashworth, took to the stage for some karaoke fun.

The event kicked off with a moving rendition of “You’ll Never Walk Alone” by Justice Minister Alex Davies-Jones, accompanied by Hillsborough campaigners. Margaret Aspinall, who lost her son in the Hillsborough tragedy, urged for the swift passage of a new law to prevent cover-ups.

The annual party, organized in collaboration with InHouse Communications and featuring drinks from Diageo, is a traditional post-speech gathering following the Prime Minister’s address. Attendees enjoyed various karaoke performances, including Mr. Streeting singing “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me” with Labour MP Oliver Ryan, and other MPs and journalists taking the stage for lively renditions.

Labour MP Mark Ferguson sang Pulp’s “Common People,” Housing Secretary Steve Reed performed “Sweet Caroline,” and MPs Jen Craft and Christian Wakeford entertained with Wheatus’ “Teenage Dirtbag.” The Mirror’s Mikey Smith led a spirited version of Green Day’s “American Idiot.”

The party in Liverpool was a hit, with hundreds of guests partying into the early hours. The iconic Mirror Chicken, a long-time fixture in political events, even showcased some dance moves at the event.

The festivities followed Keir Starmer’s keynote speech, where he pledged to confront Nigel Farage, although Starmer was not present at the party.
