Jodie Kidd’s Pub Temporarily Closes Amid Staff Mistreatment

Jodie Kidd’s pub, The Half Moon, has temporarily closed its doors following reports of staff experiencing physical and verbal mistreatment at the establishment. The 46-year-old model made the decision to shut down the West Sussex pub for a brief period, as stated on their Instagram page.

In addition to sharing cozy autumn photos of the pub, the statement emphasized the effort put into creating a welcoming environment for patrons to gather, enjoy good company, and create lasting memories. Expressing disappointment over recent instances of abuse faced by the team, the pub highlighted the dedicated individuals behind The Half Moon who are committed to their work and seek only respect in return.

Encouraging constructive feedback in a calm and polite manner, the statement urged patrons to engage positively to help the pub enhance its services. The pub’s customers promptly showed their support, with messages expressing love for the establishment and anticipation for its reopening.

A subsequent post announced a brief break for the core team to rest and recharge, with the pub scheduled to reopen on Thursday, September 25th, after being closed on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Situated in Kirdford, The Half Moon pub is a 15th-century Grade II listed establishment that Jodie acquired in 2017. In 2021, Jodie revealed the financial challenges the pub faced, exacerbated by the impact of the pandemic and multiple lockdowns, underscoring the difficulties of running an independent business in the current economic climate.
