“Android Users Report Rapid Battery Drain Bug”

Some Android device users are facing a concerning issue where their phone batteries are depleting rapidly even when not actively in use. This problem seems to have emerged following a recent software update rollout. Numerous Android users have taken to online forums to express their frustrations, noting the need to charge their phones multiple times a day just to maintain battery life.

The battery drain bug appears to be impacting Google’s Pixel phone series, with the tech company acknowledging the issue and working on a solution. Affected devices include the Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel 7A models.

According to insights from 9to5Google, the root cause of the problem seems to be related to CPU wakeups, leading to continuous background activity that consumes battery power even when the phone is idle. Users like Phil and Fz have voiced their frustrations, reporting sudden battery drops, slow charging speeds, and overnight battery depletion issues on their Pixel phones.

However, not all Pixel users are experiencing battery drain problems, as confirmed by individuals like Warren, who noted no significant battery issues on their Pixel 9 Pro device. Google is actively investigating the matter and is expected to release a fix in the near future. Updates on the situation will be provided as new information becomes available.
