“Apple Releases Update to Fix Wireless Charging Issue”

Apple has recently rolled out a crucial update for new iPhone users to address a wireless charging issue affecting some devices. The problem has caused certain iPhones to only charge through MagSafe wireless charging instead of wirelessly. Although Apple mentioned that only a small number of users have been impacted, it is recommended for all users to ensure their devices are updated.

The affected devices include the iPhone 17 series, including the Pro and Pro Max models, as well as the iPhone Air. Apple explained that the update resolves an issue that hinders wired charging on these models when the battery is nearly depleted. To update your device, navigate to Settings, tap General, and select Software Update. Look for iOS 26.5.1 and choose to update immediately or schedule it for later, ensuring you are connected to Wi-Fi or have enough mobile data as the update file is sizable at 13.6GB.

Looking ahead, Apple’s WWDC Developers Conference is set to commence on June 8, where the company is expected to unveil the new iOS 27 upgrade. This upgrade is anticipated to introduce new features to iPhones, potentially enhancing their AI capabilities. Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations, expressed excitement for the event, emphasizing the celebration of technology, innovation, and collaboration within the global developer community.

Mirror Online will provide live updates and news coverage from WWDC, starting at 6pm BST. Stay updated with the latest announcements and developments.
