A 69-year-old woman, Shirley Pasamanick, found herself in a terrifying situation when she was out walking her 14-year-old dog, Sparky, in Orlando, Florida, on September 1. While at Plaza Tropical Supermarket, a pitbull suddenly attacked them. Shirley struggled to protect her dog as the pitbull went for Sparky, causing her to fall to the ground while holding onto the leash.
In a desperate attempt to stop the attack, Shirley screamed for help and tried to separate the dogs. When the pitbull bit her pet, she used her cane to fend off the dog. Failing to open the pitbull’s mouth, she resorted to biting the animal to protect Sparky.
Following the incident, Shirley recounted feeling shaken for days. She criticized the pitbull’s owner for not showing concern for her or her dog. Both Shirley and Sparky sustained bites and bruises, with Shirley expressing disappointment that no one came to their aid during the attack.
Shirley shared the ordeal on Facebook, warning others about the unexpected attack. She emphasized the need for action against the pitbull, insisting that it should be put down. Despite the traumatic experience, Shirley expressed relief that her dog survived the attack, considering Sparky’s age of 14 as too old to endure such a frightening event.
