Freeview Users Urged to Retune for Latest TV Guide and Channel Lineup Updates

Freeview users are advised to promptly review their settings and retune their devices as an update has been rolled out by the popular UK TV platform. This update includes changes to the channel lineup and TV guide. Freeview has announced that certain broadcasters are implementing adjustments this week, necessitating a retune to ensure channels and the TV guide remain current.

The update includes four notable changes. Firstly, three channels have been rebranded with new names, which will now be displayed in the TV guide. That’s TV 3 (Channel 71) has been renamed That’s 20th Century, offering music from previous decades and iconic shows like Yes, Minister, In Sickness and in Health, and The Saint. Additionally, That’s TV 3 MCR (Channel 86) is now known as That’s 20th Century MCR, while That’s Classics MCR (Channel 93) has been simplified to That’s Classics.

In addition to these rebrands, a new channel, That’s Entertainment, is set to launch on Channel 75. While detailed program listings are not widely available yet, more information is expected soon. Freeview indicates that such updates are part of ongoing changes as broadcasters regularly modify their offerings to ensure content remains diverse and current.

Freeview users can expect to see these changes reflected in the TV planner. If not, a retune may be necessary by following these steps:

1. Press the menu button on the remote.
2. Navigate to settings, installation, or a similar option.
3. Enter the PIN if prompted (commonly 1234 or 0000).
4. Select “first-time installation,” “factory reset,” or “full retune.”
5. Confirm the deletion of existing channels.
6. The device will automatically search for and store the updated channels.

Although Freeview updates occur periodically, this recent update is considered significant, making it advisable to retune sooner rather than later.
