Perrie Edwards Opens Up About Pregnancy Loss

Perrie Edwards recently shared her heartbreaking experience of losing a baby during her pregnancy, describing how her world fell apart following the loss. The singer, who is expecting her second child, opened up about the two previous losses she endured before the birth of her son Axel. In a podcast interview with Paul C Brunson, Edwards disclosed that she suffered a miscarriage before Axel’s birth and later lost another baby when their heart stopped beating at 22 weeks.

Reflecting on the traumatic ordeal, Edwards revealed her shock when she unexpectedly started producing milk days after the miscarriage. The singer expressed her devastation, emphasizing that the experience was particularly challenging as her body was ready for the baby, even though the baby was no longer there.

In another interview with Glamour, Edwards praised her fiancé, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, for his unwavering support through the difficult times. She acknowledged the emotional toll on both of them, highlighting the importance of their mutual support and understanding during the grieving process.

Apart from her personal struggles, Edwards is gearing up for the release of her debut solo album, “Perrie,” making her the final member of Little Mix to pursue a solo music career. While former bandmate Jesy Nelson released a single in 2021, the rest of the group remained together. With Little Mix currently on hiatus, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall have also ventured into solo projects, showcasing their individual talents.

Edwards expressed gratitude for the support from her bandmates as she embarks on her solo journey, emphasizing their bond and shared desire for each other’s success. She highlighted the unique dynamics within Little Mix that contributed to their success as a group, appreciating the diversity of personalities and musical tastes that complemented each other.

The singer hinted at addressing personal themes in her upcoming album, with one song, “Same Place, Different View,” alluding to the challenges of friendships breaking down. Edwards shared her emotional struggle of losing a close friend and the impact it had on her life, underscoring the profound loss she experienced.
