“Hikers Discover Deceased Women in Victoria Alpine Region”

Hikers in an isolated area made a grim discovery of two deceased women. The hikers found the bodies near Lendenfeld Point in the alpine region of Victoria, Australia, and promptly notified authorities around 1 pm local time.

Upon receiving the alert, the Search and Rescue Squad, along with Air Wing officers, responded to the scene and conducted an investigation. While the identities of the deceased women remain unknown, authorities speculate that they were possibly in their twenties or thirties.

Victoria Police stated that the deaths do not raise suspicions and could be linked to hiking activities as the remains were found near the Cleve Cole Hut camping area. The Victoria highlands are renowned for attracting visitors for hiking and skiing during the Southern Hemisphere’s winter, offering picturesque views of the Victorian Alps.

A police spokesperson has appealed to the public for information to help identify the individuals involved, as no missing person reports have been received. Due to the challenging conditions and remote location, police will be camping at the site overnight.

The bodies are scheduled for removal the following day, with authorities confirming that the women’s deaths are unrelated to the ongoing search for Dezi Freeman, an alleged police killer. Freeman is believed to have fled into the bushland after fatally shooting a detective and a senior constable during a police visit related to sex abuse allegations.

The Mirror has reached out to Victoria Police for further comments.
