Christian Brueckner, the prime suspect in the Madeleine McCann case, marked his release from prison by enjoying a McDonald’s cheeseburger. After serving a seven-year sentence for rape, Brueckner, accompanied by his lawyer, indulged in a meal at a fast-food restaurant in Buchholz in der Nordheide before swiftly departing. Despite being under strict release conditions, including wearing an ankle tag for five years, monthly probation officer check-ins, and potential prison recall for violations, Brueckner continues to deny any involvement in Madeleine’s disappearance. Prosecutors are still awaiting the outcome of an appeal regarding his clearance from previous sex crime accusations in Portugal. German authorities recently conducted a search in Portugal for evidence related to the case, focusing on a farmhouse where Brueckner resided at the time of Madeleine’s disappearance in 2007.
