“New Year’s is our peak day at WhatsApp, with each year setting new records for messaging and calls among users,” stated WhatsApp.
To enhance the celebratory messages, WhatsApp has introduced new features just in time for the festivities. These include a 2026 sticker pack, video call effects like fireworks and confetti, animated confetti reactions, and animated stickers for Status updates.
Alongside these updates, WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is offering tips for users planning to use the app on New Year’s Eve. Suggestions include creating events, using polls for decisions, sharing live locations, and sending video and voice notes to keep everyone connected.
