Virgin Media has introduced a significant upgrade to its TV platform, offering customers three new bonus channels for free. These channels, provided by Rakuten, fall under the category of FAST channels (Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television).
The first addition is Rakuten TV Drama on Channel 462, showcasing popular movies like The Big Short, Gosford Park, and JFK. Following that, Rakuten TV Comedy on Channel 463 features films such as Big Momma’s House, The Internship, and Bedazzled, providing viewers with a selection of beloved comedies. Lastly, Rakuten TV: Sci Fi on Channel 464 offers a variety of content from the realm of science fiction.
This entertainment enhancement is automatically available to Virgin TV 360 and Flex users without any additional steps required. Customers can easily access these channels through the Virgin Media TV guide and voice control search feature.
David Bouchier, Chief TV and Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media O2, expressed that the new streaming channels aim to deliver exceptional entertainment and value to customers. With a total of 40 FAST channels now accessible to Virgin TV subscribers, including options like British Screen Classics and Inside Crime, the platform continues to expand its offerings.
While Virgin Media TV requires a monthly subscription, the recent channel additions enhance the overall content selection compared to free services.
