Television host Rob Rinder has cleared the air with his co-presenter and close friend Rylan Clark after a playful comment was made during a recent joint interview.
During a discussion about their new program, ‘Rob and Rylan’s Passage To India,’ Rob, aged 47, and Rylan, aged 36, were asked if there was anything they had always wondered about each other.
In an interview with the Radio Times’ YouTube channel, Rylan jokingly stated, “We discuss everything. I am well-informed about every detail of that man, every aspect.”
Surprised by the response, Rob promptly clarified, “He meant that metaphorically, not literally, just to be clear. He hasn’t delved into that.” Rylan quickly added, “No, not personally. But I have seen them.”
Rylan’s light-hearted comment comes amidst ongoing speculation about the nature of their relationship, which both have denied while emphasizing their strong friendship, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Earlier this year, Rylan mentioned how their bond had grown since they first collaborated on ‘Rob and Rylan’s Grand Tour.’ “We started Grand Tour as acquaintances and ended as friends. We ventured into A Passage to India as best friends and left as best friends,” he shared.
Despite his affection for Rob, Rylan affirmed that Rob is not his partner. Rylan recently went public about his relationship with Kennedy Bates, as they made their first public appearance together at BBC Radio 2 In The Park in Chelmsford.
One witness described Rylan and Kennedy’s affectionate display: “Rylan and his new partner seemed deeply in love, enjoying each other’s company in the VIP section. They were laughing, engaging in public displays of affection, and having a great time together.”
Rylan, who had previously hinted at no longer being single on his BBC Radio 2 show, expressed, “I may have mentioned that I’m…it feels strange saying it on the radio!”
In recent times, Rylan has been hosting a podcast titled ‘How To Be In Love,’ where he converses with various guests about their experiences with romance, featuring notable figures like documentary maker Louis Theroux.
The second episode of ‘Rob and Rylan’s Passage To India’ is set to air on BBC Two at 9 pm today (Sunday, September 21).
