“The Chase’s ‘Beast’ Mark Labbett Prefers TV Over Love”

The popular quizzer from The Chase, Mark Labbett, has openly shared his preference for watching TV over pursuing romantic relationships. Despite his appearance on Celebs Go Dating in an attempt to find love, the 60-year-old TV star, also known as the Beast on ITV’s game show, expressed contentment with being single.

Mark’s decision to join the dating show followed his divorce from his second cousin, Katie, who is 27 years younger. Despite his subsequent relationship with TV presenter Hayley Palmer, which ended after a series of dates, Mark seems to have embraced his single status.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Mark emphasized his happiness with solitude, stating, “If you want to do something, you do it, like if I want to watch that film then I do it.” He highlighted his enjoyment of weekends spent watching Sky Sports, expressing a lack of urgency to be in a relationship.

Although Mark appears content with his single life, his ex-partner Hayley expressed disappointment with his comments, describing them as “heartless.” She emphasized the importance of mental health and urged for a compassionate approach, especially during the holiday season.

Hayley announced their split on social media, acknowledging their past year together and wishing Mark well for the future. She revealed her coping mechanism through music, symbolizing her emotions with a broken heart emoji.

Mark attributed his split from Hayley to their age difference and acknowledged the positive experience of dating her for a year. Reflecting on his preference for solitude, he shared with The Sun, “Facts are easy. Numbers are easy. People are complicated.”

The Chase star humorously described his struggles with reading people, contrasting it with his proficiency in trivia. He expressed his comfort in being alone, emphasizing the complexities of human interaction.
