An underage male student has alleged that a female teacher engaged in phone conversations with him to arrange a sexual encounter. Furthermore, he claimed that during a video call, the teacher was naked in the shower, exposing her breasts. The teacher, identified as Krystal Sims, aged 30, is now facing criminal charges that could lead to a maximum of five years in prison for contacting the minor student involved.
Sims, who worked as a substitute teacher in Kentucky, stated that she was attempting to set up a meeting with the student so he could apologize for his disruptive behavior in class. She mentioned that she had declined friend requests from other students in the past.
According to the New York Post, a detective from the Barren County Sheriff’s Office received information that Sims had been communicating with an underage male for the purpose of arranging a sexual encounter. The student reported that he first met Sims when she was substituting as a teacher and they stayed in touch through Snapchat.
The student disclosed that their online communication eventually led to planning for a physical encounter. The student recorded a call on August 22 where the teacher mentioned meeting up, though a subsequent video call was not recorded.
During the follow-up call, the student alleged that Sims was naked in the shower, exposing her chest. Others present during the call also reported witnessing the teacher’s exposed breast. Sims admitted to being the person in the recording but claimed she was only arranging a meeting for the student to apologize, denying any physical contact between them.
After posting a $25,000 cash bond, Sims was released from prison and is set to appear in court on Wednesday, October 8. If convicted, she could face a prison sentence of up to five years.
