Stacey Solomon showcased a heartwarming display of a joyful blended family in the most recent episode of her reality TV series when her former partner, and father of her eldest child, appeared on-screen.
The 35-year-old mother of five used her son Zach’s 17th birthday as an opportunity to reflect on the moment she discovered she was expecting him at the same age he is now, and how her loved ones reacted to her teenage pregnancy.
The BBC One show, “Stacey & Joe,” featuring Loose Women star Stacey Solomon and her husband Joe Swash, chronicles the daily lives of the happy couple. Stacey shares her three younger children, Rose (3), Belle (2), and Rex (6), with her former EastEnders actor partner.
Stacey, who became a mother at 17, also has a son Zach with ex-boyfriend Dean Cox and a 12-year-old son, Leighton, with former fiancé Aaron Barnham.
During the latest episode of “Stacey & Joe,” the couple welcomed Dean into their home to celebrate Zach’s 17th birthday. While enjoying fish and chips, they reminisced about the time Stacey found out she was pregnant at Zach’s current age.
Dean revealed he was only 18 when Stacey got pregnant, and Stacey vividly recalled the moment she disclosed her pregnancy to her family members.
Although the episode aired on Tuesday, it was actually filmed in March to coincide with Zach’s actual birthday. Stacey took to Instagram at the time to honor her son’s milestone.
Stacey has previously discussed the challenges she and Joe faced in blending their families. Apart from Stacey’s older children from previous relationships, Joe has a 16-year-old son, Harry, from a previous partner.
In a podcast interview, Stacey admitted that creating a blended family was not easy and required significant effort to ensure everyone felt secure. She also shared a touching moment from her recent wedding where their children gave speeches, which left her emotional.
