“Shopper Finds Forgotten Playboy Cover with Donald Trump Interview in Thrift Store”

A savvy shopper was amazed to stumble upon a forgotten Playboy cover featuring Donald Trump while browsing through a thrift store. The shopper shared the unexpected discovery on social media, praising the intriguing Q&A-style interview with the former President from March 1990. In the magazine, alongside Trump’s interview, were articles on various topics like ‘Rock and racism’, ‘fax ‘n’ figures’, ‘cars 1990’, and ‘world-class playmates from our far-flung empire’. The cover photo showcased a 43-year-old Trump in a white shirt, black trousers, a black bowtie, and discreet Playboy cufflinks, standing next to a woman with brown hair who appeared elated.

The feature story inside was titled ‘Playboy interview: Donald Trump, a candid conversation with the decade’s most flamboyant billionaire on deal making, self-promotion, world affairs and how much is enough’. The interview delved into personal inquiries, with Playboy asking Trump about his views on marriage and flirtations. Trump tactfully avoided discussing his marriage but acknowledged the enjoyment of flirtatious interactions, emphasizing the importance of positive responses, especially in social circles with high levels of success and egos involved.

In a reflective moment, Trump shared his “dream job” of running MGM in the 1930s and 1940s, highlighting the lost glamour and control of that era. The shopper who found the magazine purchased it for a bargain price of $1.50 (£1.12) and noted its resale value online ranging from $100 (£74.60) to $150 (£111.90). Other collectors chimed in with their own experiences of finding vintage magazines and appreciating the timeless content within them.

The discovery sparked discussions among users, with one expressing excitement over collecting vintage Reader’s Digest from the 1960s, reminiscing about engaging reads from past decades. The interaction highlighted the enduring appeal of classic publications and the nostalgia they evoke for readers across generations.
