“Samsung TV Users to Enjoy Free UKTV Channels Directly”

UK Samsung TV users are in for a significant upgrade as they will soon have access to popular free-to-air linear channels from UKTV directly on their screens. This update will eliminate the need for additional devices, allowing viewers to enjoy a variety of bonus content hassle-free.

The channels will be streamed over the internet, eliminating the requirement for a traditional aerial setup. Samsung has also announced that a dedicated section will be added to the home screen, showcasing content from the U streaming service for easy navigation and discovery.

Viewers can expect classic comedies, dramas, and factual shows to be readily available without the need to navigate through menus or settings. Additionally, later this year, channels such as U&DRAMA, U&Dave, U&YESTERDAY, U&W, and U&eden will be accessible through a direct link from Samsung’s Universal Guide to the U app.

Samsung anticipates that millions of its TVs will receive the rollout, with the channels appearing in the ‘Live’ tab and Universal Guide, ensuring easy access to UKTV’s live and on-demand content for internet-based TV users.

Jonathan Newman, General Manager of Commercial at UKTV and BBC Studios UK and Ireland, expressed excitement about the strengthened partnership with Samsung, emphasizing the enhanced accessibility of the U app to Samsung customers.

Dan Harvie, Vice President of Home Entertainment and Appliances at Samsung UK and Ireland, highlighted the vital role UKTV plays in enriching the entertainment offerings on Samsung TVs. He emphasized Samsung’s commitment to enhancing the viewing experience by providing access to a diverse range of broadcast content in collaboration with UKTV.

Although an exact launch date has not been specified, the new features are expected to roll out on Samsung TVs soon, enhancing the entertainment experience for users.
