An endearing canine was abandoned and left to fend for herself on the streets following severe mistreatment from her previous owner. The unfortunate dog, named Juni, was discovered shivering on the roadside by rescuer Lauren Daigle, who has taken to social media to share Juni’s heartbreaking tale.
Lauren, a resident of Nebraska in the United States, has dedicated herself to seeking justice for Juni after uncovering the extent of the suffering the dog had endured. In a poignant video on TikTok, she disclosed, “I stumbled upon an abandoned dog by the road. Little did we realize that she had been shot twice in the head, emaciated but still alive.”
Struggling to hold back tears, Lauren added, “While driving on the highway today, I found a stray dog. I rushed her to the vet as she was bleeding from her mouth. The vet confirmed that someone had shot her. Thankfully, the bullets narrowly missed her brain and eye.”
Following her rescue, Juni has now found a caring and nurturing home where she can finally experience the compassion that humans are capable of showing. The message accompanying the video reads: “We are aware of more details than we can currently reveal. She now has a name.”
“She now has a cozy bed. She now knows love. Her name is Juni. And she is thriving for every voiceless animal that couldn’t,” the caption continues.
Lauren has notified the authorities about the situation, and the previous owners have been identified. In a further statement, she expressed, “Yesterday, she wagged her tail, brightening my day. I look forward to seeing the joy return to her eyes. We have met with the breeder, identified the previous owner, gathered evidence, and are submitting it to the sheriffs in both counties as our initial step.”
