An expert in security warned Charlie Kirk that there was a guaranteed risk of him being fatally shot while speaking at university venues before the tragic incident occurred.
Kirk, a prominent conservative figure, met his demise after being struck by a single bullet during an open-air event at Utah Valley University. The 31-year-old co-established Turning Point USA, a conservative group, and maintained a strong alliance with former President Donald Trump. Law enforcement sources, speaking anonymously, disclosed that a manhunt is ongoing with a new person of interest being pursued in connection with the assassination.
The shooting incident comes amidst a surge in assaults on political figures in the United States, spanning various ideological factions. Kris Herzog, the owner of The Bodyguard Group of Beverly Hills, which caters to high-profile clients, revealed that he had cautioned Kirk about the potential dangers during a conversation on March 6.
Herzog claimed that during their meeting at California State University, he had forewarned Kirk that without taking substantial safety measures, he would inevitably face a perilous situation at his upcoming speaking engagements.
Despite Kirk partially heeding the advice, he did not follow up with Herzog. Expressing regret, Herzog informed the Daily Mail, “Regrettably, he did not respond to me, and now my prediction of his tragic fate has materialized.”
Herzog and his team were particularly concerned about Kirk’s rising political prominence and the inadequacy of his protection. He emphasized, “Everyone in my team believed that his security was woefully inadequate, leaving him in imminent danger of being targeted and killed at one of his upcoming events.”
Having worked with high-profile individuals like Kim Kardashian, Herzog recommended that Kirk utilize bulletproof glass panels for protection. Additionally, he suggested the use of metal detectors to screen individuals within a 700m radius.
“I stressed the importance of ballistic glass, as a sniper would likely target his head,” Herzog remarked.
Following Kirk’s untimely demise, Trump hailed him as “a martyr for truth and freedom.” While denouncing the demonization of political adversaries in the US, Trump attributed the escalating rhetoric of the radical left as directly responsible. The President, who faced two assassination attempts during his previous campaign, referenced the attacks on United Healthcare’s CEO and Republican Rep. Steve Scalise but omitted any mention of assaults on Democrats, like the slaying of Minnesota State Rep. Melissa Hortman. “Radical left political violence has harmed too many innocent individuals and claimed too many lives,” he stated.
