“Darts Rising Star Luke Littler Chasing World No. 1 Title”

Gary Anderson has expressed his belief that Luke Littler is not the top player in the world, solely based on the rankings. Littler, a teenager, made a remarkable breakthrough at the 2024 Darts World Championships and has since achieved notable success by winning titles such as the UK Open, World Matchplay, World Grand Prix, and the Premier League.

Despite his accomplishments, Littler is currently ranked second globally behind Luke Humphries, who has earned £1,769,000 in prize money over the past year. Littler follows closely with £1,697,000, with the potential to surpass Humphries before the upcoming world championships.

When asked about the best player in the world, Gary Anderson straightforwardly pointed to Luke Humphries as the world No.1. Anderson also identified Michael van Gerwen as the top player in Europe outside of the UK. Littler, although not holding the top-ranking position yet, seems to agree with Anderson’s assessment and remains focused on improving his performance.

With the world championship approaching in December at the Alexandra Palace, Littler aims to build momentum. The final list of opponents will be confirmed on November 24, with the draw expected shortly after. Sky has reduced the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the upcoming season, offering over 1,400 live matches across various leagues, including a significant increase in live Premier League games.
