Co-op is preparing to unveil 11 new stores this week, with a complete list of locations now confirmed. These latest additions span from Bristol all the way to the Scottish Highlands, and notably include the Co-op’s debut as the inaugural permanent retailer at the new Brent Cross Town development in London.
The newly opening stores consist of a mix of completely new outlets, franchise-operated locations, and stores reopening after undergoing a redesign. This initiative is part of the retailer’s ongoing commitment to invest in over 200 new and revamped stores by 2024/25.
This unveiling is part of the larger plan announced by Co-op, which includes 50 new store openings set for November and December, just in time for the festive season. The company is urging the Government to implement business-rate reforms in the upcoming Budget.
Kate McCrae, Co-op Operations Director, emphasized the importance of these local stores as community hubs that cater to the needs of the neighborhoods they serve. The company is dedicated to supporting local economies, creating jobs, and championing British suppliers.
In a bid to enhance member benefits, Co-op has introduced 200 personalized offers, higher discounts, member-exclusive games, and special deals within its membership scheme. Shoppers stand to potentially save over £90 across October, November, and December with prizes changing monthly.
Rachel Halter, Director of Membership at Co-op, highlighted the company’s commitment to providing added value to its members through an expanded range of personalized offers and discounts. This move aims to ensure that members can enjoy significant savings on their preferred products and ranges, reinforcing Co-op’s pledge to deliver exceptional value and rewards to its loyal members.
