In a few days, I will present my second Budget as the Chancellor. Priority will be given to supporting working families by addressing NHS waiting lists, reducing national debt, and lowering the cost of living. These initiatives align with the country’s needs and my focus as Chancellor.
Addressing NHS waiting lists is crucial as we strive to uplift the NHS, recover from years of austerity, and ensure timely access to medical care for patients. Likewise, reducing national debt is essential to redirect resources towards vital sectors like education, healthcare, law enforcement, and communities.
Lowering the cost of living is a top concern, especially for households facing financial pressures. High prices disproportionately impact ordinary families, highlighting the need for economic improvement that truly benefits the working population.
In the upcoming Budget announcement, measures will be introduced to alleviate the cost of living burden further. Previous actions, such as freezing prescription charges and rail fares, along with initiatives like school breakfast clubs and tackling ticket touting, have already eased financial strains for many individuals.
The government’s commitment to managing spending efficiently, combating waste and fraud, and ensuring funds are allocated appropriately underscores the dedication to creating a more stable economy. These efforts pave the way for a Budget that aims to enhance the well-being of families and promote a fairer and more resilient Britain.
