“Candace Owens Faces Legal Battle Over Macron Comments”

Controversial figure Candace Owens recently made provocative remarks targeting Brigitte Macron’s medical history in a heated exchange involving the French first lady. Emmanuel Macron and his spouse took legal action against Owens following her repeated assertions to her followers that the 72-year-old was originally male.

In the midst of the legal proceedings, Owens stood firm on her stance, insisting on having Brigitte undergo a medical examination by an impartial physician. Owens stated her intentions, asserting, “We will insist that Brigitte undergo a medical evaluation with an independent doctor. We are determined to access her medical records.”

Concurrently, Brigitte is preparing to present photographic evidence affirming her gender to a U.S. court. The legal team representing the French leader and his wife disclosed their plan to submit the photos as part of their defamation case against Owens.

The defamation complaints, initiated in July, allege that Owens spread groundless and damaging falsehoods that contributed to a worldwide campaign of defamation and harassment. Lead counsel Tom Clare, speaking on the BBC’s Fame Under Fire podcast, emphasized the couple’s readiness to substantiate the inaccuracy of Owens’ claims with both general and specific evidence.

Highlighting the emotional toll of the situation, Clare expressed the distress caused to the French couple by Owens’ comments. Despite the distress, Brigitte expressed willingness to undergo a public process to rectify the record.

Owens’ unsubstantiated claims stem from a baseless conspiracy theory asserting that Brigitte was born as Jean-Michel Trogneux, who is, in fact, Brigitte’s brother. Owens, a prominent social media figure with a vast following, not only endorsed this theory but also released a video series named Becoming Brigitte, where she persisted in echoing these allegations.

In response to the legal actions initiated by the Macrons, Owens’ legal team submitted a motion to dismiss, arguing that the case should not be heard in Delaware and citing significant financial and operational challenges in defending it there.

Owens defended her statements as protected free speech, stating to MailOnline, “This is not France, where Brigitte and Emmanuel Macron can act with impunity. This is America. Foreign leaders cannot evade scrutiny simply because they disagree with a podcaster’s First Amendment rights.”
