“Bulgaria Named Top Affordable Summer Destination for Families”

Bulgaria has been identified as the prime destination for an affordable summer vacation for families this year. According to TravelSupermarket, Bulgaria offers the best value with an average cost of £760 per person for a week-long, all-inclusive stay. Following closely are Morocco at £852 per person and Malta at £862.

The analysis, based on family holiday searches from October 5 last year to last week for trips between May and September 2026, revealed significant price variations across popular destinations. Bulgaria saw a decrease of £54 per person, or 7%, since the previous summer, positioning it as the most economical choice among the surveyed countries. On the contrary, Cyprus emerged as the most expensive at £1,186 per person.

Spain, including the Balearic and Canary Islands, secured the fourth spot on the list with an average cost of £888 per person, maintaining prices similar to 2025. Turkey and Greece followed in the 11th and 12th positions, costing £1,057 and £1,096 on average, respectively.

Croatia ranked as the 10th most affordable destination this summer, with an average cost of £1,046 per person. Impressively, prices for a typical trip to Croatia have dropped by 12% compared to last year, making it £136 cheaper for travelers this season.

For families considering long-haul trips, TravelSupermarket highlighted Cape Verde as the most cost-effective option at £1,247 per person, succeeded by the United Arab Emirates, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico.

Chris Webber, head of holidays and deals at TravelSupermarket, commented, “Bulgaria appears poised to reclaim its status as the top budget-friendly all-inclusive getaway. Tunisia and Morocco continue to offer excellent value, while Croatia’s price drop is particularly good news for families who found it becoming unaffordable.”
