Spanish authorities are seeking assistance in locating a British man who went missing in late September. Marc Tulloch Hewson, 63, who hails from Wantage, Oxfordshire, was last sighted in Torrevieja, south of Alicante. Concerned individuals, including his wife Catherine and friends in Costa Blanca, have turned to social media to appeal for any relevant information.
The Civil Guard has issued a public plea, confirming their active investigation into Marc’s disappearance. He was last seen near Torrevieja University Hospital on September 19. Descriptions reveal that he was wearing black tracksuit bottoms with ‘The Beatles’ inscribed in white, a brown baseball cap, and black shoes.
Authorities have received leads indicating Marc’s presence in the Jardin del Mar I and Laguna Salada residential areas in Torrevieja on the morning of September 20. During this sighting, he was described as shirtless and barefoot, wearing black shorts. Search efforts have been concentrated in these locations as well as Orihuela Costa, with local residents being interviewed.
A photo and physical description of Marc have been circulated online via an Interior Ministry platform. He is noted as 1.75 meters tall, around 70 kilograms, with straight blond hair and blue eyes. Appeals for information have been widespread, with individuals like Fiona Crowther and Beth Hewerdine urging the public to assist in locating Marc, emphasizing his vulnerability due to being without medication.
Reports portray Marc as friendly and approachable, detailing his departure from home on September 18 and subsequent ambulance pickup later that evening. Although discharged from Torrevieja Hospital around 2 am the next day, he vanished before the ambulance could transport him back home.
In a separate incident, Layonel Ramirez Collado, 27, was found alive after disappearing while jet skiing off the Canary Islands. Rescued three days later, he was discovered adrift in the Atlantic ocean, dehydrated and sunburnt but conscious, after signaling to a passing plane.
