Bernie Ecclestone recently parted ways with a yacht named after his daughters, Petra and Tamara, following his wife Fabiana’s revelation that they only utilized it for eight days annually. Additionally, another smaller vessel owned by the renowned Formula 1 figure, stationed in Ibiza, is currently on the market, contrasting with the Croatian-based “Petara.”
During an interview commemorating his 95th birthday on Tuesday, October 28, Ecclestone disclosed the sale of the yacht, stating, “We just sold it,” as confirmed by Fabiana, who expressed that the yacht’s size exceeded their needs.
Earlier this year, Ecclestone also sold his collection of F1 cars to Red Bull co-owner Mark Mateschitz for approximately £550 million. This transaction occurred subsequent to a civil settlement with HMRC, wherein Ecclestone paid over £500 million due to undeclared overseas assets worth £400 million.
Despite these financial dealings, Ecclestone and his family maintain a substantial net worth exceeding £1.8 billion, according to Forbes. Residing in Gstaad, Switzerland, with his third wife Fabiana and their five-year-old son Ace, Ecclestone prefers a low-key birthday celebration, opting to visit his ranch in Brazil with his family.
Reflecting on family dynamics, Ecclestone emphasized the collaborative effort in raising Ace, highlighting the effective teamwork with Fabiana. Acknowledging their parenting challenges, Fabiana outlined their approach to managing Ace’s screen time, emphasizing the importance of balance and delayed access to certain technologies until a later age.
Describing Ace as a bright and versatile child, Ecclestone and Fabiana shared anecdotes about his early skiing prowess and diverse culinary preferences, with sushi being a particular favorite. Looking ahead, the couple expressed optimism about Ace’s potential and limitless possibilities for his future achievements.
