Apple has introduced AppleCare One in the UK, following its successful launch in the US last year. This new subscription service allows British customers to protect multiple Apple devices under one plan, offering simplicity and potentially cost savings.
For a monthly fee of £16.99, AppleCare One covers up to three eligible devices, including iPhones, iPads, Macs, and Apple Watches. In case of accidental damage, loss, or theft, Apple will repair the device or provide up to three replacements per year, depending on the nature of the claim.
AppleCare One expands on the existing AppleCare+ service, providing unlimited accidental damage repairs, battery servicing, and 24/7 priority access to Apple support. The key benefit of AppleCare One is the ability to safeguard multiple products with a single subscription, eliminating the need for separate plans.
According to Apple, customers who cover an iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch under AppleCare One could save up to £11.48 per month compared to purchasing individual AppleCare+ plans with Theft and Loss coverage for each device.
One significant advantage of AppleCare One is the flexibility it offers regarding device age. Eligible devices up to four years old, in good condition, can be added to the plan. This is a notable improvement over the standard 60-day window for purchasing AppleCare+ after acquiring a device.
Apple emphasizes that AppleCare One allows customers to protect their existing devices, offering extended coverage beyond the usual timeframe. The subscription also adjusts seamlessly when upgrading devices—when trading in a covered device for a new one from Apple, the old product is automatically removed, and the new device is added to the plan without inconvenience.
Bob Borchers, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, highlighted the customer-centric approach of AppleCare One, providing a simpler and more flexible way to enjoy the trusted protection of AppleCare+. With AppleCare One, UK customers can benefit from comprehensive coverage for all their eligible products under one plan and price, ensuring peace of mind.
