“Man Draws Inspiration from Historic Murder in Heinous Crime”

A man, aged 65, extensively researched how to carry out a heinous act against his partner, drawing inspiration from a prominent murder nearly a century ago, according to investigators.

The individual is suspected of fabricating multiple deceptive online personas to engage with young women, pretending to be athletic individuals to entice them, but his intentions turned increasingly dark.

Reportedly, he meticulously planned the murder of his partner, subsequently dismembering her body and discarding parts in a suitcase left at a bus station, where he was captured on CCTV.

Having a disturbing criminal past involving his family, as reported by CNN Brazil, Ricardo Jardim, an advertising executive, had a previous conviction in 2018 for the alleged killing of his mother, which he refuted.

Nevertheless, he confessed to concealing her body, claiming she had taken her own life. Allegedly motivated by financial gains, he stood to benefit from a life insurance policy worth R$400,000 (£55,666) held by his mother.

Following a spree of catfishing attempts, targeting his partner as the victim, he drew inspiration from a chilling murder case in São Paulo in 1928, where an Italian immigrant murdered his wife, dismembered her, and concealed her remains in a suitcase.

Attempting to access funds from his partner’s account, Brazilian investigators believed his actions were financially driven, echoing his previous criminal behavior.

Additionally, he utilized his partner’s phone to mislead her family into thinking she was alive, deceiving them about her whereabouts.

Described as possessing a “psychopathic profile” and noted for being highly educated and intelligent, the Civil Police of Rio Grande do Sul characterized his crimes as meticulously planned and calculated.

He allegedly planted false clues and employed disguises to mislead investigators and divert attention from his offenses.

It was observed that he utilized AI to create fake profiles to target victims, though it was not confirmed if the victim in this instance was connected to his catfishing activities.

The victim’s torso was discovered in a suitcase at the Porto Alegre bus station, with one leg located at a beach and the remaining limbs in the East Zone of the city.

During the disposal of the body, Jardim attempted to conceal his identity by wearing a cap, mask, glasses, and gloves.
