BBC Radio 2 host Vernon Kay has shared insights about his wedding day, admitting to a lasting regret from the special event. Despite marrying Strictly Come Dancing co-host Tess Daly over twenty years ago, he revealed a decision they made before the ceremony still weighs on him.
During his Radio 2 show, Vernon expressed remorse for not recording their wedding day, stating they chose not to hire a videographer at the time due to concerns about the additional cost. Reflecting on their choice, he lamented the missed opportunity to capture their magical moments on film.
The couple’s journey began unexpectedly in 2001 at a BBC Christmas party, where they were tasked with recreating Britney Spears’ music video for …Baby One More Time. Just two years later, they tied the knot, welcoming their first daughter, Phoebe, in October 2003, followed by Amber six years later.
With a relationship spanning more than two decades, Vernon and Tess stand out as enduring figures in the entertainment industry. Tess praised her husband in a recent interview, highlighting his dedication as a father and their shared commitment to family moments.
Both professionally successful, Vernon transitioned to a prominent role on BBC Radio 2 in 2023 after frequently filling in on Radio 1. Tess, initially a model, later ventured into television, eventually co-hosting Strictly Come Dancing in 2004. Their paths converged professionally on the show Just the Two of Us three years later.
