“Schools in Holyhead Lockdown Over Axe Sighting”

Following reports of an individual carrying an axe, children at two schools were placed in lockdown today in Holyhead, Anglesey. Police vehicles, including armed officers, were observed heading to the area. Ysgol Gymraeg Morswyn and Ysgol Kingsland were affected, with parents receiving notifications about the lockdown. The police later confirmed that the lockdowns were lifted.

North Wales Police mentioned receiving unverified information about a person seen with an axe in the Kingsland area of Holyhead. Police patrols and ongoing searches are being conducted to determine the validity of the reports. A woman in her twenties has been arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon in connection with the incident.

Authorities appreciated the public for providing information and urged against speculation as the investigation continues. District Inspector Wayne Francis assured the community of a visible police presence for reassurance. No threats against the public have been reported, and inquiries are ongoing.

Anglesey County Council confirmed the precautionary lockdown at the schools following a specific concern in the local area. Both schools quickly resumed normal operations after police confirmed safety. The council commended the schools for following lockdown protocols efficiently and thanked everyone involved for their cooperation and support.
