Russia has issued a warning that any authorized action by Donald Trump to provide Ukraine with long-range Tomahawk missiles could lead to a declaration of nuclear war against the United States and Britain. Recent intelligence indicates that the US is getting ready to support Kyiv with improved targeting data to target Russia’s energy networks, while pushing NATO allies to do the same. Additionally, there is consideration for supplying Tomahawk and Barracuda missiles to enable deep incursions into Russian territory.
The proposed targets would enable Ukraine to escalate its successful strikes on Russian refineries, pipelines, power stations, and other critical infrastructure to disrupt Vladimir Putin’s oil supplies and revenues. However, military analyst Colonel Igor Korotchenko emphasized the potential consequences of deploying Tomahawk missiles, stating that such actions could escalate into a global conflict.
Colonel Korotchenko highlighted the precision and dual-use capabilities of the Tomahawk missiles, emphasizing that their transfer to Ukraine would lead to a war between the United Kingdom or the United States and Russia. He stressed the need for immediate action to prevent any Western deployment of Tomahawks, suggesting that cutting off resources to Ukraine would force them to agree to peace terms favorable to Russia.
Russian officials have expressed concerns over the implications of deploying Tomahawk missiles, questioning the parties who would be responsible for launching them and assigning targets. This shift in US intelligence policy is a response to Putin’s refusal to end the conflict and negotiate a peace deal with Ukraine, as Russia continues its aggressive actions, including recent strikes in various Ukrainian regions.
Oleksiy Kuleba, Ukraine’s deputy premier, condemned Russia’s ongoing attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure and emphasized the necessity of strengthening sanctions and blocking supply chains to deter further aggression. The situation remains tense as both sides navigate the escalating tensions and military actions in the region.
