Max Verstappen’s fortune has surged by approximately £44 million over the past year, taking his total net worth to almost £230 million. The Red Bull Racing driver has notably advanced on the Quote 500 list of the wealthiest individuals in the Netherlands, moving up to the 264th position from 322nd last year.
Despite reaching the age of 28 in late September, Verstappen remains the youngest individual on the list, a title he has held since his debut in 2022, making him the youngest ever to enter the list, a record that still stands after three years.
Originally placed as the 500th person with a net worth just over £105 million, Verstappen has swiftly climbed the ranks, reaching the 428th spot a year later and then making a significant leap of 106 places last year.
The entry threshold for this year’s list stands at just under £123 million, with notable exclusions like Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk.
Forbes has ranked Verstappen as the 25th highest-paid athlete globally this year, earning nearly £59 million, primarily from salary and winnings, with endorsements contributing £4.5 million.
Comparatively, Lewis Hamilton sits at 22nd on the list with earnings slightly exceeding £60 million, where endorsements of £15 million place him ahead of Verstappen despite lower salary and winnings.
Earlier in the year, reports surfaced that Aston Martin had offered Verstappen a massive £750 million deal to cover the remainder of his career, to which Verstappen responded that it was a substantial amount. He has since confirmed his continuation with Red Bull, having signed a contract extension until 2028 reportedly worth around £40 million per season.
